Guest guest
, you are terrific. I loved your letter. I am sorry to hear you have had two rude awakening visits. But, with your delightful sense of humor, you will make it back to where you want to be in no time. Your new approach will work. And I am betting you make it way less than 2 years. Good luck. Say " hi " to your good wife for me, and I wish you both a speedy journey in this new venture. Pat from K.C. Re-Introduction (Back to the meetings for me) My wife and I are pretty excited about the Core plan, so we decided that in order to get the full benefit, at least one of the two of us should start going to the meetings again. Because is still convinced that she isn't ever going to lose weight, I agreed to attend. So I went last night for the first time in several months, signed up, weighed in, and so on. The first nasty surprise was that during the time when I didn't have the accountability of weekly weigh-ins, I'd gained back something like ten pounds, which brings me to 243.3, the heaviest I've *ever* been. Talk about rude awakenings. In the meantime, I'd also switched primary care physicians, since my old one decided to drop his practice and be a hospital doc instead. It was pretty easy to convince Dr. Kennedy to write me a note saying that my ideal weight should be 180 instead of the 153 that's listed in the WW books. Dr. Sandhu is not so easy to convince, and she wouldn't write me such a note. " 153 is just about right for you, " she said. I don't take offense, because Dr. Sandhu is a great doctor and I know she's got my best interests at heart, but man, that means I have NINETY!!!! pounds to lose! Oy! That's Rude Awakening Number Two! So. What I have decided is this. Since I was lucky enough last night to show up at the meeting where the leader was discussing the first of the Winning Outcomes tools, I've decided that I'm going to approach this as if it were my first time on WW, with all the optimism and recommitment that entails. I've *almost* got to agree with this approach, but she's still pretty cynical. So, in that spirit... Hi, everyone! My name's , and I've just started WW. I'm excited about the Core Plan, and I think it's going to work well for me. Right now I have 90 pounds to lose, and I'm shooting for a pound a week; at that rate I should be at my goal weight in less than two years. Looking forward to all of it! -- Sláinte, S. Guest guest
Hello , Isn¹t it just a jolt when the good doc tells you your ³healthy² weight range? Gak. Congratulations for taking that first step. I would imagine that as the days/weeks progress, and your wife sees some changes she will give up the ³doubting ² beliefs. I didn¹t realize it before, but you really DO get out of the program, what you put into it. Best of luck with your new beginning, and I¹m looking forward to hearing how your progress moves you closer to your goal.
