Guest guest
she will hit them. My son stopped rolling so often when he first got his band at 4 1/2 months . I have to say though since he has been done with his band and is now 8 months I feel he did more of everything with it off. I am sure she will have it off son enough and will catch up with anything she has lagged behind with. My daughter seems to be advanced on everything EXCEPT gross motor skills. She's very alert and can do things like transfer toys from one hand to another, already has two teeth, etc., but she is still having difficulty rolling over (she does it, but it still seems to be mostly by accident) and she can only sit unassisted for about two seconds. Many of the children in her Gymboree class and my New Mom's Group that are a month or more younger than her seem to be hitting these milestones first. As an experiment we took the band off for 30 minutes today and she rolled several times and was able to sit a little longer - I guess because her "center of gravity" was lower without the band.I know every child is different and I shouldn't compare, but I was just wondering what the collective experience of this group has been. Thanks in advance for your help! Guest guest
My dd still has tort and wore 2 bands for plagio - She was behind in her gross motor UNTIL she got her band. She rolled over for the 1st time the day after she got her band (6.5 mo.) and after she was wearing the band she took off! SHe never crawled but started walking @ 8.5 mo old!!! TOrt can affect gross motor skills. If you are concerned you can contact your state early start program to get a free eval and free OT if there is a problem. We did this - everything was in our home and it was great. Luli loved the play time - and she is right on track now! Jen and Luli - 26 months Left tort - Right Plagio - Hanger Band Grad - CA http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jens5th/ Developmental delays from tort/DOC band? Guest guest
Hi - my baby was and is gross motor slow and fine in everything else. She is 15 mo and still not walking - the docs said that is fine - they don't worry till 18 mo or so AND she is progressing - cruises everywhere. Crawled at 11.5 mo - over night literally, did not roll over till 8 mo (both ways) - 6 mo one way. She is really fine - PLEASE do not worry. **************Ideas to please picky eaters.
