Guest guest
Sharon, If your shoulder is still killing you, Might I suggest you see an Orthopaedic Surgeon. They are so much better skilled in diagnosing shoulder injuries than an ER Physician! Good Luck! Sincerely, S. Just a lil whine How EDS makes me feel like I'm the only-est, I know folks here understand. So forgive my whine... Just spent a frustrating time at the urgent care clinic in the hospital's ER... trying to convince them I injured my shoulder by sleeping on it. It's rare that I go to ER with EDS related problems... so they don't know me there. It's also rare that I sleep so deeply, that pain doesn't wake me up when I do roll over onto my shoulder. I had a bit of wine last night so I slept like a log, I guess. Celebrating the scholarship I was just awarded... Watching a good movie... chatting with friends... Went to bed, woke up this morning with seriously intense shoulder pain. Hurts even when I'm not moving it. Now I KNOW you all know what it's like to sleep on something wrong and wake up feeling like something's ripped, torn, broke, injured somehow. Also how it feels trying to describe an injury like that to a doctor who has not much clue about the disorder OR the patient... So thanks for being here to listen to me whine Oh, yes, the ER doctor finally relented and gave me a prescription for 10 Tylox. It took a lot of talking about my joints, meds, braces, wheelchair, etc etc... He said I'd have to go to my regular doctor and get more if I needed them. I'll be sitting in the waiting room Monday morning for sure. I don't want this to happen again! (I usually have some sort of pain meds in the cabinet, but haven't needed it for awhile and ran out and never asked for more. DOH!) It's a comfort to know that there are actually people out there who know what I've just been through. Hooray for CEDA!
