Guest guest
Hee-hee, I agree about not feeling my age on the inside too! My situation isn't helped by the fact that I look extremely young too. I'm actually 28 but I'm often taken for a young teenager! It's quite funny really as bodily I feel like a pensioner yet look like child. And all the while my inner mentality is usually behaving like a three year old! ;-) It is funny though how you don't realise you're growing older the same as people around you. It shoscks me when people point out I'm nearly 30 now...it sounds so much older than I think I am! Wonder if I'll ever feel or look my real age?! lol Love and hugs....Jo xxx

I have never looked my true age but have never thought anything about it until this series of posts. I never would have suspected a connection with EDS. The difference in my case (compared to Jo) is that I was passing for 30 when I was 18. I was passing for 30 when I was 30. I was still passing for 30 when I was 40. Now, I admit, there were some rather obvious advantages to that early on, such as being able to enter certain establishments without having to deal with the hassle of forged documents, and starting out in business without looking like " the new kid. " But as Barb pointed out, the one milestone I missed was qualifying for senior discounts. And the irony of that is that while I NEVER got carded when I was between 18-25, now that I'm 60, I get carded every once in a while if I ask about the discounts!
