There are cons and hucksters in every field.

Unfortunately, there is no state licensing or testing organization

for shamanic healers. While the mere possession of a license is no

guarantee that a traditional, western practitioner is going to be

competent either, there is at least a presumption that a certain

minimum level of education, training and standards have been met.

The safest approach is word of mouth research.
