Guest guest
Hi . I'm Todd's mom, Sherri. He is 4' 6 " tall and weighs about 65 pounds. When he was 8 the doctors wanted to try growth hormone but it was still so new on the market and they couldn't tell me whether it would work or not. We decided that the side effects were greater than us wanting him to be a few inches taller and he was in good health other than being of short stature and we didn't want to risk anything. Todd told me that " God made me this way and I'm happy " . I don't know if it was the right decision to leave to an 8 year old but he has always seemed to have a very old soul. And has always known what he wanted! He is still very head strong! I don't know if he regrets it now as he has never mentioned it to me. I have some more recent pictures that I will be downloading soon. Anything else I can answer just let me know. Todds picture Hi ..its me again..i was browsing threw the pictures and omg...rss kids have to be the most beautiful children...but i do want to hear a bit more about Todd.....because he is older and i guess i just want to find out about him. My main questions are ...how tall are you? How much do you weight? Did you take growth hormones? if not...do you regret it? I hope im not being to nosy...im just very very interested. Guest guest
Hi Sherri...Ohhhh im so happy you responded. He is very handsome young man. Its incredible how much of Owen you described. Owen may only be 4 but wow what a head strong little boy. I guess i dont have alot of questions, but i am very interested in hearing about Todds childhood. Im so incredibly worried about owen when he is older...im terrified of others picking on him and i kind of feel the way you do..i dont know for sure deep down in my heart if i want to put him on ght. I dont know much about it... and i want a guarantee that it will give him more than an inch or two. How was his appetite when he was little.... How would you describe his personality...does he have 2 little dimples on his back on his shoulder blades.? And now... what is he like..he seems happy..what does he want to do for a living? I know..im nosy..but im ectatic to be talking to a mom of an older child with rss..yay ..xxoo > Hi . I'm Todd's mom, Sherri. He is 4' 6 " tall and weighs about 65 > pounds. Guest guest
He was and still is very curious and busy. When he was little it was all I could do to get him to drink more than 2 ozs. of breast milk at a sitting. So needless to say, I was constantly breastfeeding. It would take about an hour to get him to drink 2 ozs. and then 30 minutes later we would go through it all again. We didn't know about hypoglycemia then but I just kind of figured it out on my own. He would get real grumpy and moody when he went more than 2 hours without something. It took A LOT of patience and looking back I don't know how I did it. His appetite got better as he got older although he still isn't able to eat a lot at one time. He has several small meals a day, like maybe 5 or 6. He won't eat breakfast though and it drives me crazy. He stopped eating breakfast when he was about 12. Flat out refused. What's a mom to do? Force feed? I just prayed that he was getting enough the 5 or 6 times he ate the rest of the day. I still get on him about it though. Even now I have a fear of others picking on him but he will be 21 in a few months and has done just fine with only a few verbal altercations, one of which when he was 5, I chased 3 kids that were about 10 out of my yard with a baseball bat because he came in crying and said they called him a baby. Maybe I over reacted? LOL! Being called a baby was his least favorite thing! And I guess it was mine too. Hopefully when I get to heaven I will be forgiven! But they didn't tease him anymore. He is a very outgoing and very active guy now. He is training and working at a dental lab and seems to be happy doing that. He didn't want to go to college at all. School was always a struggle as he is dyslexic. We had no luck at all working with the school system so we were happy that he graduated on time. Guest guest
Adam has that same personality. I've had a few doctors try to convince me that he is ADHD, but just as many say absolutely no way. It's just " Adam " . He is head strong, independent and knows what he wants. That will get him into trouble at school because he's the square peg people want to fit into a round hole, but one behaviour specialist that has known him since he was 6 (he's 10 now) says he is going to be a very successful adult, I just need to get him through the confines of school first LOL. He has 2 dimples on his lower back, right where his bum meets his back. Kind of cute. He struggles at times but I find if he is really tired, or feeling sick any comment (however non intended to injure) regarding his size, will reduce him to tears. But the majority of the time he'll just holler out " I am not little, I am 10 years old. " And it doesn't matter if it's our priest, a neighbour, or a stranger 80 years old, call him " a cute little boy " and he'll tell them what for. I have always maintained that was God's gift to our RSS kids. So many of our special ones seem to have that personality trait. It's survival and I don't worry as much about that as what he will be able to do (or not do) as an adult for his size. Hopefully he will be tall enough to be independent and drive a car etc. etc. Take care Debby Todds picture > > > > > > Hi ..its me again..i was browsing threw the pictures and omg...rss > > kids have to be the most beautiful children...but i do want to hear > a > > bit more about Todd.....because he is older and i guess i just want > > to find out about him.
