Guest guest
I am so sorry you are not getting anywhere with these drs!!! How frustrating!!! Where are you located... There may be someone here who knows of a band friendly dr in your area. Also, if there is a Cranial Tech that you could visit they will do a free eval to let you know if a band would help and also all the measurments. Personally, I would not go back to these drs. If they are getting such varying measurments of just her growth - I can't even imagine what they would get for her measurments if a band is needed! Also, the fact that he would lie to you about what a band does... that is just riduculious! The bands that are designed by CT (doc) were monitered in their design by the FDA for the reason that they are on a babies growing head... the FDA cleared the band because it did no harm. If these band caused harm the FDA would shut them down. I cannot believe he said that!!! So, let us know wharer you are... maybe someone here can help you!!! Jen and Luli - 28 months Left tort - Right Plagio - Hanger Band Grad - CA http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jens5th/ app went not as expected!! Hello all - Havnt been in here in a bit!. I had taken my daughter to see the pead at hospital and he did everything in his power to please me with answers altho i was not all taken in by this!. When i asked about the helmet for my daughter he said there was no point in even bringing it up into the conversation as i am here i will tell you now NEVER get a helmet for your child because at the rate the skull grows is diff in each and every child and the helmet could restrics normal growth aswell as abnormal growth causing in swelling of the brain - Did anyone else hear this from a paed or child specialist?. Now my daughter is 9months old and nothing was said or done till now i went and demanded she was checkd and now i have to take her to the heath visitors once a week for her head 2 be measured ALSO once every two weeks to our local gp for her head to be measured - GP measured it at 47cm where the pead at the hospital measured 40cm the week before that it was 41cm. at this moment in time i have sereous issues about how much these specialists and gp's also the health visitors actualy know about ANYTHING!!! Guest guest
I recommend getting a free consult at cranial technologies. I haven't ever heard of anyone being harmed by the band. I go every week for adjustments and if they head has grown, they give the baby more room for growth. If you notice it getting tight, you simply call and they see you right away for an adjustment. I really don't think it can harm a babies developmentally or physically. You can ask questions like this of the cranial technologies orthotists. They are the specialists in this area. If it harmed babies, I don't think the FDA would approve it for use and I don't think it would be so widely used but that is just my opinion. If your not happy, I would do something. It is not too late. 9 months is still a great age.
