Guest guest
Hi Gang, here...age 32...Crohn's since 15...Remicade every 8wks for 8yrs...starting week 12 of SCD tomorrow. Go SCD! I was " well " before I started SCD. I got ULTRA sick in first 4 days...what I understand to be detox...then for the next 6 weeks...I was not just well...but PERFECT. My BMs...timing, volume, texture...you name it...textbook perfect. I was on top of the world; I could not remember feeling so wonderful. Then, just before my Remicade treatment (SCD week 10), I had a flare...and new symptoms. First time ever: heart burn. I chalked this up to the 2mo SCD hiccup...and also to my first SCD mistake...poorly-researched DDCC (since found proper DDCC). Ok. Went on intro diet 4-5 days...had the Remicade...and 3 days later...no longer flaring...but I am worse than before I started the diet: lower gi noises, sense of radiating warmth in upper gi (never had this before), and the perfect BMs...well...where are they? Is it typical to radically respond to the diet and then have not just a flare...but a full-on health setback as part of the healing? Since I was " well " before starting SCD I didn't bother with phasing foods in once I was past " intro diet " (particularly because I was responding SO well)...just focused on keeping illegals out. Is this foolish? Even after those 6 amazing weeks where I was eating any " legal " at any volume...do I need to start being cautious. Could SCD be making me more sensitive? Is taking steps backward part of the path forward? Your insights would be much appreciated, Thank you,
