Guest guest
Anyone use this company? I am less than 24 hours from heading 300 miles away for casting at Cranial tech and now today my pedi is wanting to work with us. He referred us to a neurosurgeon at St. V's in IN who uses this local company for plagio. I looked in the archives but they were all nearly 3 yrs old for this issue. I have a call in and am waiting on speaking to "Abe" but I looked in the database and see that what they do is likely a passive helmet. I feel that a doc band being active has to be better...any input asap would be so appreciated and sorry for the drama:-) Mom of Owen 6 1/2 mos, Renay Renay Valiant<>< Call (765)471-9000 Independent IN Pampered Chef Director Take the Internet to Go: Go puts the Internet in your pocket: mail, news, photos more. Guest guest
Sorry - I don't know anything about them or the band they use. 300 miles is a bit of a drive - but if you don't know enough about this other company it will be worth it. Can you postpone your appt w/ CT until after you talk to Abe? On the other hand if you are willing to make the drive then I say go for CT - you know your gonna get good care there. Guest guest
We used AOI on the northwest side of Indy and were very happy with the results for Johann. He wore his helmet for 4 1/2 months. My only problem with AOI was that I never felt like I got as much information as other parents on this board. Looking back, I think it's more because I didn't push for it or ask questions the way I should have. Johann still has a taller head, but his plagio is almost gone. (He still has 3 mm of difference from one diagonal to the other, but we didn't start the helmet until he was 8 mo. old.) I actually felt better about Johann's treatment after I visited a second orthotist (recommended by our First Steps provider) at the end of his treatment for a second opinion. He seemed very pleased with the progress our son had made and felt he looked fine. Best of luck, , mom to Johann, 14 mo., helmet-free since early April No need to miss a message.
