Guest guest
Hi - My son also had tort and after he was released from PT, I didn't do anymore stretches on our own. I guess I was lucky though, he hasn't regressed, although he wasn't wearing a helmet soon after PT either. If you feel comfortable just doing the stretches on your own a couple of times a day, I would probably do them at least until she's done with the band and then see how she is without it. If you're really worried about, I would take her back to the PT for an evaluation. We went back after like a month of being out of PT just for a " check up. " I'm sure he can do a good assessment and advise you on what to do. Good luck! Guest guest
I would continue to do them at least until she is walking...My son is still in PT even though he has no tilt...from what I've been told, there can be lingering effects of tort at every milestone, and I've even heard of it coming back at puberty (much worse)...so even though it's alot to keep up with, it's worth putting in the work now instead of paying for it later...you should check out the torticollis kids support group also on ...it's been very helpful for me...good luck Shenelle Katy, TX 12 mo ident twin DOC band grads for plagio and brachy PT for tort for baby A > > Hello All, > > My 6 1/2 month old daughter, Suzy, has been in her DOC band for six > weeks now. Guest guest
Dear , My daugther had tort, it's gone now, but I was told to keep on with the streches and the stimulation for the " right side " up till she starts walking too. the tort is gone now, (it was a mild left side one, where Klara was not turning well to the right), and there is no tilting any more + her jaw lines and neck muscles are all identical now. But she still has a propensity to turn to the left if left to herself only. So, i keep on with stretches and stimulation for right turns. I did, as you say, get lazy and stopped doing them, as she had not more problems, and then realised the situation got a bit worse. I started over, it's gone now, but now I do them every day. Try to keep up, it's tedious, but it pays off. I also intend of having Klara checked by my PT every two months or so. all the best! ivanka > > > > Hello All, > > > > My 6 1/2 month old daughter, Suzy, has been in her DOC band for six > > weeks now.
