Is it just me/my computer??

lately it seems like every message has all 10-20~ ever associated with it so you have to scroll and scroll and scroll past the <<<<<<<<<<'s to find the new message?? whats that about?? ( It makes it hard to keep up with the list... I only get about 15 minutes a day on here so I end up having to skip half or more of it... is there something I need to adjust on my settings?? thank you much ( & yes, i'm not terribly "tech savvy" sorry!) I get that too. I guess it has somehting to do with the fact that it's not just an email group, so some people post online and stuff. One of the reasons you may see lots of messages bunched is, if you are

getting messages in a digest, and people do not trim their posts, and

then someone replies to a non-trimmed post and doesn't trim, you end up

seeing things over and over and over, and it's very difficult to make it

through things.

well then I don't why my computer (thankfully!!lol) trims the posts for me?? lol 8 years of working as a secretary & i still don't really "get" computers!! lol.. I figure out the programs I work on, but email has so many little "quirks" I don't get???

I haven't found any way around it. I get the digest form of emails too. The difficulty is that people who get the individual emails just hit reply, type in their responses , then hit send without scrolling down and removing all the earlier emails. So each reply repeats the accumulated emails.... Some are quite lengthy, that is for sure.

I don't think we can do much about it except to remind folks to cut their replies.

When I'm really busy, I just look over the table of contents printed at the top of the digest emails and read the few that seem relevant to me. Which I don't like to do as I might miss answering a question that I know something about. When I have more time I either just scroll down a lot, or I jump back and forth between the index/table of contents portion of the digest, and the individual emails.
