Hi Mara,I’m being cautious I guess. Doctor said it was ok – to try 1.5 mg for a few weeks and if I did not notice an improvement then to up the dose. He was unfamiliar with the LDN transdermal cream as he had only ever prescribed capsules. I presented him with evidence about the cream and he agreed to prescribe it. Plus, I am a petite person, 5’1’’ and 95 pounds. I am not particularly sensitive to drugs (except 6-MP which nearly killed me) but I am just being cautious. I am open to hearing anyone’s recommendations since I’m new to it.Is he the one that suggested you stay on 3 mg? Because that may not be inaccord with something that Dr. McCandless said recently about thesize of the dose and weight. Now that I know your weight I can ask a question on her list, if you would like me to. (Or you could join and ask yourself ifyou feel more comfortable that way.) I believe she thought the 3 mg dose wasmore apt for smaller people - like younger kids. (She's the one who cameup with the formula you are going to be using.) If you are going to do 1.5 - I'd do 1 week, at most 2, certainly not more It'sjust not going to be as effective at that dose, so it will be like wasted time. Most people with UC and CD skip it, as far as I have seen in the last6 months. Mara

The doctor, being unfamiliar with the cream, was just making it

up about staying at 1.5 mg for 4 weeks – I guess he did not know. So,

that said, I will try the approach you suggest, that is, try 1.5 mg for 1 or 2

weeks before upping the dosage. I would surely appreciate if you could ask on

the McCandless list about correct dosage to weight. I am no kid – I’m

55 years old and weigh 95 pounds. The information I found about people

who weigh less than 105 pounds doing no more than 3 mg. was found in the LDN

Forum, under a question about Dosing (pg. 2 or 3 I think). This according to

Dr. Bihari. That is what I am going by, if there is new information that I

missed, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
