Guest guest
Thanks Marilyn, I had been on Lucy's site, but didn't make that connection... Thanks also, Gay, who has sent me further info on my personal email. I wanted to share that we are doing the intro diet on the site until my book arrives in the mail soon... Also my DH is stopping his caffeine addiction cold turkey - YAY! As of 5:30 today he's got a miserable headache, I feel much cleaner and more alive, my constipated son has had two BM's today and had 3 yesterday with only 1/2 a days start!...I couldn't be more thrilled! I'm curious about anyone using Kombucha for helping with candida? I haven't researched files on that so excuse me if this is already discussed.. Thank you! Staci, I used kombucha prior to going SCD. Because the kombucha " mushroom " is a colony of yeasts and bacteria, it would be very, very advanced. Also, the recommended method of brewing it is with sugar, and I'm wary of anything with added sugar. (Honey apparently is not as good a food for the " mushroom " as sugar is.) I brewed my own, and used stronger tea, and also fermented it for at least 2 weeks instead of the 5-7 days I was advised to do by the person who sent me my " mushroom. " I did not tolerate it at all made the way it was recommended. (Mega diarrhea!) Kombucha is not SCD legal -- but I think it is one of those things which might be used for additional healing once you are stable on SCD. But " stable on SCD " to me means symptom free for at least six months, and better a year. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
