We're starting our helmet journey today. First appointment with

pediatric neurosurgeon for full work-up and RX for helmet. We've

already been through CT scan, ultrasound, and other work ups, but this

is our first NS appointment.

I know I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but I'd like to know if

you still aggressively reposition after the helmet comes off. Our

daughter is 7 months old at this point, and they're estimating 9-12

months of helmets but of course who knows right now.

That means worst case scenario, she'll be 20-21 months old when she's

done. By that point, is her head strong enough to not be concerned or

should we continue to aggressive repo her?

Hi ,

It seems like a long time if it is 9-12 months. My son wore the DOC

band from 7.5-9.5 months and started with 8mm assymetry. How much

assymetry does your daughter have? What band provider are you going

with? I am not repositioning (he kind of does it on his own now).

What I mean is, he moves all over the places, sleeps on his tummy

now, sits up, crawls, etc. I do try to keep him off his back during

the day but other than that I don't reposition.

PS: If she has tort then you will want to get that corrected. I

would think at 20-21 months old, she won't regress.
