Thanks for the feedback Holly! Not very encouraging though.... My arms pretty much are skin and bones as well. The rest of me actually is too. Although since my tummy's usually so flat, I can easily tell if my gut is inflamed, which is has been for the past week or so. That sounds horrible what the prednisone did to you! I was on it for a few months, but it never did anything like that to me. Might have swelled my face a bit though. Just wondering if you exercise at all. I'm trying to figure out how to gain good weight and if exercise will help. Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa =DWhen I gain, it first goes to my stomach (I have a pretty fat stomach for only being 93 pounds), then the boobs, then the face. Nothing ever goes to the butt, thighs, etc. Quite irritating, because I could really use some padding on my backbone and butt, and my arms look like bones with skin covering them. When I was on prednisone and gained some weight, my boobs grew horribly...very painful and turned them black and blue and purple. Seven years later, I have extra boob skin that's all ugly, stretch markey, and still kind of purpley. A guy that did my heart ultrasound asked me how many kids I had, and seemed surprised when I said none. Is that what happens to your boobs after you have a baby?HollyCrohn'sSCD 12/01/08> > > > > > > > >> > >> > > you crack me up - !!! Hi Holly,

I don't know about pregnancy..

but being on and off Pred did the same things to my boobs and thighs.

It is so disgusting. I wonder if some of us that are more prone to scar tissue

develop these stretch marks? Also when reading some of what AJ wrote he says

that a certain bacteria thrive off of collagen. Collagen is exactly what we

loose when stretch marks form.

It's such a bummer. Maybe one day there will be laser treatment for it.

Hi Alyssa,

I'm afraid I don't exercise. I'm sure it would help if I did, but I lack any

kind of energy. I keep saying I'm going to at least start walking, but have yet

to actually do so.

Since you have a flat gut, I don't think I'd worry. I've always had a fat gut

since I was a little kid. I think it might just be a genetic thing. I have a

cousin who's skinny as a rail, and she has a round gut too. My grandma told her

not to worry, that she just inherited the family gut ;).

Hi Jodi,

You know, I got stretch marks on my thighs when I was just 12 (pre-Crohn's) or

so. At the time, I didn't know what they were or why they showed up. I don't

think my weight changed or anything. They were purple stripes for a long time,

but now are whiter than the rest of my skin.

Thanks for your reply Holly!I guess I usually do tend to worry about things a little too much =) Both my parents are pretty thin, so I probably won't ever be fat. The gut part, I guess I'll just have to wait and see...And I'm sure you'll have the energy and motivation to start walking at some point, when the time is right for you =)Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa =DHi Alyssa,I'm afraid I don't exercise.
