Guest guest
Hi everyone, After experiencing a meltdown yesterday (all of this just became too overwhelming to deal with) I finally got my couch cain so I can hoist myself in and off the couch (can't sleep in bed but there are some problems with organizing a rail/pole so my brother prioritized the couch) WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I will say it again I SHOULD OF LISTENED TO MARILYN! I am feeling so much better this morning. Needed half the pain meds I normally do at night and I got much more sleep too. It is always hard for me to sleep when I am on Prednisone but this extra factor of when I need to wake up at night being so strenuous which led to pain- the fact it was minimized makes me feel very good about today. I saw my GI yesterday and he thinks a big part of the problem is being on steroids as he feels it can enable scar tissue formation. He felt in the begining of the week he just could not take me off of it considering how awful my labs were. But it was due to so many IV fluids. The bowel obstruction did not help the situation but I was getting better pre-surgery. So I need to taper relatively quickly and with the help of some integrative methods I hope it goes over smoothly. I am also doing acupuncture this morning which should help everything too. If the pain doesn't start getting much better next week and the belly distension continues I will need an MRI to look at the anostomies. But since my STAT blood work in my GI's office was so good comparing to Monday. THEY SHOT UP!! He is very confident the Prednisone is playing a major role also in my anxiety levels. What a difference a good night sleep makes. Thanks everyone for kind support I got so many off list emails with different philosophies on life from all walks of life. One of the reasons it was so moving reading it because the common thread is the SCD and all of us working to get better. Jodi
