Can somebody please explain how alternative treatments help plagio?

I read in recent posts that some parents had great results with

alternative treatments. While I know about repositioning and PT for

torticollis, I don't know anything about the other methods mentioned,

such as acupunkture, homeopathy, massage, etc. What can those do to

improve plagio and facial assymetries? My daughter is already wearing

her helmet and I have just posted that we are not seeing the results

we were looking for. So, is there anything else out there that I can

try? Who do I go to for that? She is almost 9 months and I feel like

we are running out of time soon.

Thank you very much!

When your daughter hits a growth spurt, you will see the results you

want (assuming the band fits right)! It will come...just be

patient. :>) What type of helmet does she have?

Let me first state my disclaimer that although these therapies are

working for my dd, they are not backed by studies. I believe this is

because noone wants to fund something as insiginicant as an alternative

therapy for plagio. But, nonetheless, I state my disclaimer.

Does your daughter have plagio, and tort? My dd gets chiropractic in

addition to PT for her tort. It has worked wonders! My dd also gets

cranial sacral therapy (CST) for her plagio. The idea behind CST is

that it can provide more space for growth on a cellular level. It's

not really alternative, more complementary. So, whatever treatment you

are doing (repo, helmet, etc.), will be presumably helped by having the

CST. I am also treating dd by taking her to a homeopath, because I

feel that taking a remedy that is right for her is helping her body do

what it is capable of, and that is heal itself. I have also seem

amazing results from this treatment. And, to exhaust the care team, my

dd also receives reiki massage. This is very similar to CST, it is

just another way to help balance out the energy in her body, and

thereby help along her treatment.

I am sorry that I don't have any specific websites for you to turn to,

but if you start by looking up complementary and/or holistic treatment

centers in your area, that may give you a lead. Check out yoga studios

too, they always have good resources. Please feel free to email me

offline if you want to chat more. Good luck.
