Does anyone know how many people are on this diet overall? It'd be an interesting statistic. Hopefully, someday, someone will do the testing to " legitimize " it. Until then, it works, and that's enough for me. I know that there were, consistently, around 800 people on the old Long Island group, but WHO was there rolled over about every year or so. Typically, people would come, get help with the diet, then when healing, they would vanish. Sometimes people would come back because they'd gotten too careless, eaten too much sugar and starch, and had symptoms recur. (Judy Gottschall eats, I believe, about 80% SCD at this point -- she's never gone back to a SAD diet.) The list which was Elaine's Children and is now Pecanbread has over 4000 members. This list is now just over 18 months old, and has over 1000 members. And, as you say, SCD works, and that's good enough for me. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
