Guest guest
Hi Voni, Melody looks adorable. How is she adjusting to her band? From her tilt I'm guessing you're still working on the tort (unless she's only tilting in this pic). Make sure you keep up with that since it can help the outcome a lot. Also keep us posted on her progress. We would love to hear another success story! -christine sydney 23 mo starband grad > > Well, I am not sure if anyone remembers me. Guest guest
Thanks . You are exactly right, the tilt is her tort. I have been trying to work on it. Like doing neck stretches (she HATES them), laying her on her right side to sleep, placing her toys on the left side...but it hasn't seem to gotten any better. Any ideas? She has adjusted very well to the helmet. Tonight will be her first time sleeping in it all night. I am thinking I may have to take her princess crown off, I would hate for her to get it off somehow and start eating it! Voni > > > > Well, I am not sure if anyone remembers me. Guest guest
I wish you luck. It is difficult to leave them the first night in the helmet but be strong. You can and will get through it. My son slept like a pro the first night, not so much him mom but he did great. We go to cranial tech tomorrow for an adjustment, he has been in the helmet6 1/2 weeks and it is a treck to the office for us close to 2 hrs going less coming home. I would say to make sure you contact a Pt in your area if you do not have one, this helps us out. When one type of stretching shows some regression we go in and she gives us some new techniques. I would try having your husband help you out with the stretches too. To stretch really well, I hold my sons arms to his sides while my husband puts his head to the ground on both sides rotating after a minute each side. It sounds mean but we are better able to get the stretch we need and my son is happier afterwards during the day spending it in midline not crooked. We also try to distract him when doing side stretches with one of us acting goofy while the other does the stretches. It needs to be a team effort and even then you may find you cant get it done. Keep trying.. Tammyicy_lil_angel757 <vonikaye@...> wrote: Thanks . You are exactly right, the tilt is her tort. I have been trying to work on it. Guest guest
Sorry, I don't have any tips for tort. Sydney didn't have it, so we were lucky to get out of that. However after being in this group about 1.5 years I tend to notice it now, and appreciate how much work it is to resolve. Sydney's problem was brachy - flat in back with very little asymmetry but extra width. Yes, I would recommend taking the crown off unless you're with her. Sydney chews on absolutely everything. I keep waiting for her to grow out of it. take care. -christine sydney 23 mo starband grad > > > > > > Well, I am not sure if anyone remembers me. Guest guest
Melody is so cute. I love the crown. Yes, I'd take the crown off so she doesn't eat it and choke on any of it. > > > > > > > > Well, I am not sure if anyone remembers me.
