Guest guest
From what I've seen here it sounds like many parents are in the same boat. Our ped also said it would straighten out on it's own and I believe that many do however it's a numbers game to them, 90% might sort themselves out but 10% don't for example and you don't know where you child will fall. We saw a cranial osteopath who was excellent and really encouraged us to get the band which we are rushing to do next week before the holidays, even though like you we have seen some improvement from repo and the ped thinks we are mad to do it. It wasn't about the measurements of how misshaped his head is, it is about what it looks like at the end of the day and as it is very noticeable to us and to others around us we knew we had to do something. Good luck! sarah (and Hugh 5 months) On 6 Dec 2006, at 04:28, wrote:Before I started to research this I thought my daughters head was misshaped, but I had no idea how severe it might be. Guest guest
It's good that your ped at least gave you the rx. A lot of docs won't do that if they are not in agreement. I know we had to get a second opinion from a different doctor before we got anywhere with that. Repo can definitely help out a LOT, I saw 6 mm of improvement in my son's head from repo, but it won't neccessarily help with the ear assym. Banding is a good idea to help with that. Guest guest
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am actually not freaked out at all about this. I feel very at peace with whatever needs to be done. I have a question - why do some people here have starbands, others have docband and others have hangar? Is it the clinic or your choice? I think at CT they only have the docband.
