Guest guest
Yep Debi, I wear a bracelet that says I have an adjustable gastric band and the name of my surgeon and his phone number are noted on it as well. Barbara
Guest guest
<< >> Hi everybody, Dear Sharon, My doctor recommended to ALWAYS have a medication against nausea at home. Ask your doctor or your pharmacist. In Switzerland, we find suppositories names Primperan, which saved me from vomiting a few times already, as I am a migraine sufferer. Hope this can help. Cheers, Marina, Switzerland

Guest guest
dlm, speaking from a nursing point of view, you would not have a gastric lavage (tube into stomach) unless you were to do something like take an overdose. Then the Doctor may want to wash out your stomach, which involves passing a tube into your stomach (about the size of a garden hose) and washing it out. The other type of gastric tube called a nasogastric is very fine (about as thick as air tubing for an aquarium) and would pass through with the band. However I am not as sure about if you needed an endoscopy post band, that may be difficult. Syd........ QUESTION #2 > > >Have any of you ever considered what would happen if we were in a, say, car >accident and needed to have a gastro tube or whatever might save our lives >thru our stomach?? Stomach pumping maybe? First, I'd never want anything >done without consulting my doctor first. How about medic alert >bracelets/bands/necklaces? How about you guys? Done anything about that? > >If you're obsessed, do it. dlm > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ >We have a new web site! >http://www.onelist.com >Onelist: The leading provider of free email community services >
