Excuse me for asking this, as I do not want to detract from Tammy's

original question, but...

Can a Hashis patient take Armour?

I was given the impression that I would be better off with a synthetic

hormone replacement because the thyroid anti-bodies would not

recognize synthetic hormones as a " target " .

What is the truth about that line of thought?

I've been on Armour for 4 months, no clue what my antibodies are but I certainly am feeling better after 12 years on synthetics. the aim of any thyroid hormone replacement is to suppress your TSH as close to zero as possible so that the antibodies will reduce thinking they have nothing to attack. Some-one in one of my groups said her TSH went up to around 5.00 I think this is early on with Armour so she may not be at her optimal dose but she felt better than on synthetic T4 with a suppressed TSH . I think the jury is out on this, lol, I have heard that too so if my antibodies have kicked in with a rise in TSH I sure feel a lot better than when my TSH is 0.05..........Meleese in Oz xxx
