Do any of you get sores on your tongue? Sort of small and white,

around the edge of the tongue, and extremely painful and irritating to

eat or talk? They're driving me crazy! Any advice on how to get rid of

them or why they're there?

Thanks!

The thing that has worked for me was zinc lozenges pressed onto the sore and

left to dissolve. For other ideas see:

Great, thanks so much! Do you think it's a zinc deficiency causing them?AlyssaThe thing that has worked for me was zinc lozenges pressed onto the sore and left to dissolve. Where does one get zinc lozenges, and which are scd approved?

It's called transient lingual papillitis or " lie bumps " ... inflamed taste buds.

I used to get them all the time. My daughter now gets them all the time so maybe

it's a vitamin deficiency. I haven't had one in a long time.... actually I don't

think I've had one since starting SCD. I used to get them 4 or 5 times a year.

I googled it and results pointed to using hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash as well

as zinc.

Thanks Misty! I've been rinsing with hydrogen peroxide every day, but I"m not sure if it's helping yet. I'll have to try the zincAlyssaIt's called transient lingual papillitis or "lie bumps"... inflamed taste buds. I used to get them all the time. Alyssa,

When I started on MB12 shots they went away completely! I had to go to an

'anti-aging/wellness type' doctor to get the scrip and I have it filled at a

compounder that makes the 25 milligram strength.

I used to have 2 or 3 sores at a time and eating or talking was so painful that

I felt like sparks were shooting through my body! I had tried everything before

the MB12 (perscription wash & ointment from my MD, very expensive wash from my

dentist, subligual MB12, Lyseine, Listerine, Hyd. Peroxide, supplements) and the

sores never would go away completely.

The only time the sores have come back since using the MB12 was when I went off

for almost a month (was out of the country and couldn't deal with refrig. the

bottle). I got right back on it when I came home. I only regressed once (the

beginnings of a sore) when I tried to do the shots farther apart since I'm

trying to wean myself and get to the point of 1 a week and then ultimately 1 a

month. I also take a full spectrum of B's as well so I'm not off kilter.

Aloha,

Hi ! Great info! What exactly is MB12 though? Is it just vitamin b 12? What's the 'm' for? Do you have to give shots to yourself or something? THanks!AlyssaAlyssa,When I started on MB12 shots they went away completely! It stands for methylcobalamin. Yes it's a vitamin B 12 shot. I also did

cobalamin shots before the methyl but they had no impact. The methyl form of B12

breaks the blood brain barrier and goes right to work without having to be

changed. I don't really know how to explain it but maybe you could put Google to

work for you! My neighbor explained it to me well but what I got out of it is

that the cobalamin has to go through stages before becoming methyl and by that

time it doesn't work. The methyl is able to work immediately. I give myself a

shot with the 'shorts' (that's an insulin needle) and I use Dr. Neubrander's

protocol for how to do it. You can get to his web site and learn a lot there.

It's simple, easy and hardly a prick at all.

I used to rinse with hydrogen peroxide, but didn't think it really helped much.

A couple of years ago, I switched to a mouthwash by Nutribiotic that has

grapefruit seed extract, witch hazel, aloe, and zinc in it. I haven't had mouth

sores since then. It has some illegals in it (aloe and stevia, off the top of my

head), but I doubt it's a problem if you're careful not to swallow any.

You can also just dilute some grapefruit seed extract to make a mouth rinse. My

family uses GSE for everything, it even helps clear up my dog's ucky skin when

medicine from the vet doesn't.

" hardly a prick at all" ...wow, that's from using a special needle? I get mb12+ bcomplex shots from my boss into my backside & they hurt like crazy!! ( they're worth it still...energizing & if i don't i get cracks in the corner of my mouth ) but if a different needle means they don't hurt --I'd love it!! what guage/type of needle is that? Gisele

Hi Eileen--full strength hydrogen peroxide damages the delicate oral mucosa--it is a good idea to dilute at least 50/50. You still get the antibacterial effect without caustic damage to the mucosa.

If you google it, you'll find many stores that carry it. The last time I

purchased it, I found the best price & shipping at

How about in the ears? I've read that they are a major entryway for germs (so

keep your fingers out of your ears), and that at the first sign of an illness,

you should pour peroxide in each ear and let it bubble away for a few minutes.

I've always just poured it in full strength. Is that okay, or should it be

diluted?
