Bad Experience with Amanae Therapay (Alternative)--LONG sorry

Hi:

I post infrequently due to a hectic crazy life (like everybody

else), but feel I have to share about a very negative experience we

had with a new alternative therapy. Our licensed trained, PT, who

owns a clinic that provides our daughters' PT-OT-ST, started

doing " frequency of brilliance, " therapy on our daughter in APril-

May, 2003. This therapy is supposed to help seizures. I can say

Tana relaxed during this treatment, and she NEVER cried or was in

pain. Seizures, may have diminished during the treatment, but

overall had not changed.

Our therapist recommended we sign up for a special " conference, "

that she was hosting with the woman who created frequency work.

( Day). This same woman also created the Amanae therapy.

We even got funding from our County to help pay for the conference

that cost $470 for 3 days of six sessions. I was to be treated at

the same time as my daughter, Tana.

We arrived a few minutes before our session. I could hear a child

crying (never saw them). I was told by our therapist, that there

could be no talking, and that I would have to remain on the table

even if my daughter started to fuss. I had brought my 2 older

children, 13, 11 along to assist with Tana as she often chokes and

needs things done to her feeding pump. I was rushed to the

treatment room. There were 5-6 women in the room, and one man. I

handed Tana to them. I was not allowed to give any medical info

regarding Tana. They rushed me over to my table. THey immediately

flipped Tana onto her tummy.

I had never heard of amanae and had no background info, or knowledge

of what was about to be done. Tana is NEVER placed on her tummy.

It hurts her feeding tube and she can't roll and ends up with her

face smashed into the table. She was held down by the hands and

feet, when she did attempt to turn over. I was told to remove

shirt/bra and lay on my table with a sheet over me. The man was

doing my treatment, which WAS the frequency work.

Immediately, Tana began to howl, scream and cry. The ONLY word she

can say is Mom and she only says it when she is in excruciating

pain. She has a high pain threshhold. I was in tears. My 13 year

old was in tears. My 11 year old tried to leave the room, and was

told to stay put. Day repeatedly snapped at my 13 year

old to stay put as she frantically tried to hold Tana's hand,

operate a beeping feeding pump (air in the line--bec. they laid it

flat) and respond to me and Tana. My 13 year old had tears in her

eyes. I mouthed what is going on? WHat are they doing? She tried

to show me, I couldn't see bec. there were six people surrounding

Tana. She told them to turn Tana's face she couldn't breathe.

Tana screamed over and over for 10-15 minutes. I am still angry

with myself for not jumping off the table (shirt or no) and

screaming at them to stop! It was horrible. The kicker was the

blood next to Tana's mouth when we got out to the car and I was

shobbing and shaking after what had just happened to Tana. They had

immediately left the room after the treatment and we were not given

any chance to speak with them. I was told Tana had done " really

well " during the treatment. During the treatment, unrecognizable

language was chanted. Numbers were shouted out about the heart, the

lungs, the bones. There were references to light and releases.

Afterwards my 13 year old told me they pushed on Tana's spine, so

hard, that she could hear the bones " crunch. "

As we left, the next child started the therapy and within 1 minute

of the door closing, this child was also screaming and howling. I

called and cancelled the rest of our treatment when we arrived

home. My daughters and I were emotionally shaken for days bec. of

this treatment. We were refunded the last 2 days of treatment

($312). I was told I could write to Day. Lotta good that

would do. I looked on the internet afterwards. Type in Amanae for

Day's explanation of the therapy and how " it came to her,

from the 'Spirit.' "

Obviously I am open to new therapy, but not therapy that is

physically traumatic to my fragile child. This was horrible.

Please be warned and careful of this type of alternative therapy.

If you know how to post this information out on the web --- please

do, so that our experience is able to show up along with

Day's explanation!

Thanks for listening/reading! You are all great
