Guest guest
Dear Dorit, I love your story, and I love the way you explain things. It's great to have you with us. Dear Dawn, Welcome to the Bandsters. I won't answer your question, as Debi did it already. As she said to you, no question is stupid ! Ask as many as you want, someone will answer. We are here for each other, and hence for you too ! Dear , I don't know the answer to your question regarding the port. I will ask my doctor. But it made me think of something: I presume there might still be liquid in the tube between the port and the band, right ? Then, beside irritations or things like that, it's maybe why, while eating, we feel more comfortable sometimes, and less some other times. Perhaps the fluid in the tube goes to the band, and comes back .... Just a thought ... Window of opportunity Again, please, don't generalize. It's not all white or black. Speaking of the window of opportunity in such a precise way (2 years) doesn't make sense ! The band is not an " old enough " operation and the doctors don't have enough of " old " results to be sure about it. My doctor told me the other day he has read in a medical journal that some people in Australia, where the band has been placed for over five years, are still losing a bit of weight. So please don't be so affirmative ! Dear Jo, Do you mean you want to look like Travolta ??? Did I miss something ??? :-) Counselling Thank you for all your comments and nice words about counselling. I will look for someone specialised in eating disorders. I hope I will find someone who is not too far from home, and who won't give me an appointment in three months only ... I'll tell you more about it soon. That's it for today ! :-) Cheers to all Marina, Switzerland 38 yo, 5'8 " , single Dec. 7, 1997 : 115.3 kg - 254 lb / Today : 92.5 kg - 204 lb 22.8 kg - 50 lb gone forever
