Guest guest
Hi there, I have personnally tried the sleep positioner and the memory foam to reposition my son, he is now 4 1/2 months and we had some excellent success with repositioning him in the Secure sleeper from Dex (link below). This support was awesome to put our son in any position we wanted him to be in. We actually have put both side cushions on the same side and used a rolled towel for the other side and that has worked very well and still continue to do so even though he is very active. What could also help you with that support is that it is elevated as well (kind of like a wedge) so there is a little bit less pressure on their head. For me the memory foam didn't exactly do much, if you were to go aheady and buy it, I would recommend to verify how soft it is. The memory foam I got was good but not soft enough to help me with repositioning my son as he was still very young and not very heavy. Sure it's not as hard as a mattress but if you are to buy a product, I would recommend the secure sleeper. http://www.mysimon.com/Baby-Care/9015-11024_8-24072982.html Amelie nwilkens2275 <nwilkens2275@...> wrote: I wrote to by email, but thought posting would also be a good idea for other moms in the same situation:Hi -I don't have experience with the sleep positioners and memory foam type things, so hopefully someone else can help you on that one. But my son had torticollis too and the PT recommended the Noggin Nest by Boppy, for use in his carseat, bouncey seat, or on the floor. It's available at Target, Toys R Us, and Amazon.com. It just keeps the back of their head from resting on the surface of whatever they are in. The link for Target is:http://www.target.com/Boppy-Minky-Noggin-HeadSupport-Black/dp/B000MYXCI6/sr=1-2/qid=1201201986/ref=sr_1_2/601-5328133-9190544?ie=UTF8 & index=target & rh=k%3Anoggin%20nest & page=1Also, I did use the Bumbo Seat for my son as well, and that definitely got him up off the floor more. It is only recommended for 3 months and up though, I believe (it's 3 or 4), and by that time, my son's plagio was already at it's peak, but it's definitely an alternative to laying on the floor all the time (though some babies might enjoy it more than others).
