Guest guest
Sometimes I think that the 'mental' part is really no more than being triggered and driven to eat by the bio-chemical response of our bodies to certain foods. We're not mentally ill, but we sure are sugar sensitive. That's why we are not always able to stop after having just one of something. Sort of like an alcoholic that finds once he has a drink he must have more. His cells are doing a jig clammering for more. Like you said, we have to have food to survive and can't stay away from it. But for some of us staying away from the foods that bring about an addictive response is quite a challenge. That's exactly why I weigh 262 lb today and can't lose my weight and keep it off. I have yet to be able to not eat these foods over the long haul because there always comes the day when I take just one little bite that leads to another and another and next thing I know I'm up to 300 lb. Sigh..... rose
