Guest guest
From this AAGL review: " Disclosure: Dr. Levie has disclosed that he has served as a speaker for Conceptus. Dr. Levie has reported that he does not discuss any investigational or unlabeled uses of commercial products in this activity. " Um, not true. Second sentence, blatantly, untrue. Dr. Levie hasn't read a Lupron label in regard to fibroids lately, it appears, if he has made this claim in writing the coverage on uterine fibroids from the AAGL conference. BTW, some of the info which he presents in this article was NOT presented at AAGL. I'd call this the " enhanced " version of AAGL with his own special added touches. Also, note the redundant use of the word " exciting " in reference to gyn procedures that are new....and all of the negatives (some of which are not accurately represented) in regards to non-gyn procedures. Also, mifepristone was presented by a " non-member " while asoprisnil was presented by a " member " . I found little difference worthy of note on either of these drugs when it came to presentation of investigational data. Dr. Levie, on the other hand, did. Bias. But here's the question: His or mine? As I represent " the patient " ....I will assume that MY bias is what matters here.....which then leaves me with a somewhat questionable review (complete with raised eyebrows and healthy levels of skepticism on his selective use of adjectives) of Dr. Levie's presentation of the AAGL meeting..... ******************** Highlights From the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists 32nd Annual Meeting <BR> Highlights of the meeting included discussion of medical and surgical procedures for fibroid treatment, endometrial ablation techniques, and the new hysteroscopic method of sterilization.
