Dolichocephalic sometimes indicates a "shelf" in the back of the head -- or in other words, a prominent occiput. They are synonyms for all intents and purposes. I would venture that Prominent Occiput is used by this particular doctor to ensure that there is no confusion about fused sutures, which Greta obviously has gotten the all clear to not have! -- Re: need advice! I'm assuming what he means by "the opposite of plagio" is that she hasa scaphocephaly headshape. In this case the head is much longer frontto back than normal. The normal head has a cranial index of about 78%(width/length) . With scapho the number would be lower than this (Iforget exactly how much) and with brachy it is much higher (mydaughter started at around 97%).I don't really think Gretas head does look like the other baby becausehe has a prominent bulge on one side. It is the asymmetry of the headthat makes it "plagio".
