Guest guest
, I would go back asap. Your helmet should not fit that way at all. I know that some kids adjust better than others, but most (even the older ones - my son didn't get his until 11 months) adjust really quickly and only fuss when it is being taken on or off and forget about it when they are wearing it. We were told that there should be a faint pink spot in the areas where the helmet is meant to have contact (in our sons case on his protruding forehead) but that the spot should fade noticably within 5-10 minutes of taking the helmet off. It wouldn't necessarily dissapear, but it should fade a lot and if it is a red, irritated looking spot then there is too much pressure. A helmet that fits well shouldn't be pressing on the ears at all unless the child has bumped it against something and it has moved. We do have to adjust ours periodically as our son is really active (he's 13 months) and is constantly running into things, or rubbing it against things so it moves around a bit but they should be able to play comfortably without it leaving and indents or nasty red spots. Good luck! Maureen First day in DOC band Today my 7 month old daughter got her DOC band and I am reallydisapointed. When the helmet was first put on it entirely covered hereyes and partial ear. The tech did make some corrections, then cameback put it on. I then pointed out that the left side (in front of herear) seemed to be really squashing the side of her chunky face/cheek andthe helmet looks crooked over her eyes. The tech took it off and saidshe would make a few more adjustments, only to rush back in literallytwo minuts later and put the band back on. I said it still looks reallyuncomfortable and crooked, she said that it fits great. So we leave, get in the car and my daughter proceeds to cry for the next hour until Itake off the helmet. The section in front of her ear is entirely redand indented! Is this normal? I feel like we were rushed in and out ofthere today. We were told this appointment would take an hour, but wewere in and out of there within a half 'n hour. I wish I would havebeen more demanding to make more adjustments at the office! Guest guest
I am sorry you were rushed through the appointment. It definitely sounds like the band needs more adjustment. Do you have any photos you can share? Please let us know what you find out. Angie and Jenna First day in DOC band Today my 7 month old daughter got her DOC band and I am reallydisapointed.
