going back and forth about what to do

My sons helmets were removed last thursday on what was just supposed

to be an adjustment (only 2.5 mos in DOC bands) I was, of course

excited, but have since been stressing about the decision to stop

treatment. Both boys heads have seen improvement, and I never

expected perfection, but after speaking with my LO today, he agreed

that if we did a 2nd band we would see more improvement. I asked if

he would suggest them if they were new patients and he said he would

for sure for one, but we are going back in for a second eval tom'w to

be sure. I keep going back and forth about whether I will have

regrets or if I'm just being neurotic and should just accept the

outcome as is...I have fears about football helmets not fitting, kids

making fun, etc...and my husband thinks I'm just being

ridiculous...sometimes I think I am too...I just have this innate

feeling that it's my job to do everything possible to give my kids

the best care regardless of what he or anyone thinks...I have been

reading somewhat similar posts and I'm just looking for some more

opinions on the issue. As of now, Gage (brachy) still looks like his

head is wider than avg but the flatness in back has greatly improved,

and Eli(plagio)still has some flatness on his left side...it's not

extremely noticeable, but definately visible when looking...I'm gonna

get measurements tom'w and I'll update with those, but what questions

should I be asking my LO? and myself?...

Question for yourself, will I be happy if I stop here? Did the boys

outgrow their helmets? Is that the reason you are stopping here (or

at least with band 1)? I'd get the measurements and go from there.

If you aren't happy now, then I wouldn't chance the remaining plagio

or brachy to correct on its own.

After my DS got his first helmet off I knew his head was not where it

could be. So I struggled with whether or not to get him a second.

We went for the second and were glad we did as we saw immediate

results. However he still did not look normal to me after the second

so we went with a third and again saw immediate results. We have 10

weeks left in this helmet and for the first time I feel like his head

is looking normal.

How old was your child when he got his first, second and third helmets? Was there a time lapse between getting each one or did they keep him in the first until getting the second and in the second before getting the third? (I mean, was he always wearing one or was there time off while waiting for the new helmet?) Sorry if you already posted his age... I'm new here! <nicolebrzoska@...> wrote: After my DS got his first helmet off I knew his head was not where it could be. So I struggled with whether
