I am new and have just been reading! I was wondering if anyone knows

about the eye being droopy from the helmet. My DD left eye gets pulled

down in the corner from the helmet. Is this something i need to fix on

the helmet or will it affect how the eye looks when we are done with

the helmet? She just got her 2nd helmet last week and it was correct

some yesterday with it squeezing the cheek to tight on the left side

and the eye also. The cheek is better and so is the eye but it is

still there. The first helmet was not right, too big for some reason,

moved too much. thanks for the help !

Hi there-I think I would call the ortho and see about getting another

adjustment. It shouldn't press down on the eye like that. My son's

helmet was pressing down on his ear when he first got it and the

therapist said it would take 4 months of continuous pressure to get

the ear to stay bent over like that. So it's not an immediate danger,

but I would think 4 months or more of it pressing down on her eye like

that could be a bad thing. Plus it's probably not very comfortable for

her, even though she might not be reacting to it. I would call and see

about taking her in for an adjustment. Good luck!

We just had our son banded last week and I ask the therapist about the

droopy eye " angry eye " . She said if it happens, and adjustment in the

helmet should correct that issue. I hope that is all you need to fix

it.

My daughter's eye has also drooped and we called it the " evil eye. " After the

first week, I

was very concerned about it, asked the ortho and his explanation was this: the

band puts

pressure on the forehead and there's some extra fat on the skin that either has

to go up or

down from the helmet holding that area, and in my daughter's case the fat caused

her eye

to droop. He shaved us just a little, and it is better, but still noticeable.

See her pics for

reference -- D. Helmet Day 1 & 2. (the very last two pics). The ortho said

it would

continually get better. She's only been in the band for 1 1/2 weeks.

My son had the popeye look the first couple of days and I took him back for an adjustment. Since then, I only notice a little popeye when the band is starting to get tight because his head is growing.

Thanks to everyone for their help on the droopy eye thing. I will put your advice to good use. We see the ortho next week so i will see what he can do for us. Thanks again for all you help! > > >> > > I am new and have just been reading! I was wondering if anyone > > knows > > >
