Guest guest
Stevie- My Dr. said that the FDA has been saying that the band will be approved in 2 years for the last 5 years or so. I think they are reluctant to approve it because of lots of reasons, one being that overweight people spend a lot of money on diet books and programs and also food. There are a lot of people and corporations out there that would rather not have this product on the market! I have decided not to wait and go to Mexice to have my band put in. ($10,000!) I am not interested in bypass surgery for many reasons. If you have bypass surgery, you can never (ever) eat sweets, you have really nasty gas, not to mention the malapsorption of vitamins and minerals, and your guts are entirely rearranged! That really freaks me out. I really hope you do all of your research before you make a decision. I know people that have had the bypass and they think it is great, so I guess there are advantages and disadvantages to each surgery. I guess if you had a bypass, then if you were a sweets junkie you couldn't eat them and then you would lose weight faster. Hope this helps Sharon
Guest guest
rom: " D MAHLER " mahlerco@...> I'm wondering how the band has been awaiting approval for 5 years when the trial is only 2 years old. Things happening prior to the trial?? If you're obsessed, do it. dlm Well Dr. Fox said he did a bunch of people in clinical trials several years ago (I think he said 7). I guess I just assumed that the band had been seeking approval at that time. I really don't understand how these things work (FDA approvals) They (Dr. Fox's office) just said every time they call the FDA they get the same answer, in about 2 years. So does anyone know the REAL scoop on this? I really love parentheses!(((())))))()()()()()() I used to get bad grades on papers in school for using too many (go figure). -Sharon

Guest guest
Hi Debi!!! How have ya' been! I actually haven't been lurking -- just back on after a long time with computer nonsense (had entire CPU rebuilt). I hope you are doing great! (Sounds like you are from what I've seen today and yesterday and I'm so pleased. Believe it or not they are actually going to attempt a fill next month (after almost a year with no fluid at all). Yes! >>> " D MAHLER " mahlerco@...> 03/23 2:35 PM >>> Kit: you lurker you!!!
