Guest guest
Hi . In my opinion the difference would be that CT staff has specific training in banding also they are closely monitored when they begin to practice. And have scheduled follow ups after they are fully trained. Even in this case I would want to check with the clinician about who they would consult with for difficult case, if they had problems, if they are traveling or sick when you need an adjustment... In the case of non-CT I think the training for banding is less rigorous in general (although some orthos may be very well trained in banding) so I would be more cautious about experience. There was a really shocking story on the other board about an ortho who was basically trying to wing it for a consultation by looking up in a book how to do the measurements etc. I'm sure this is an exception, but something to run away from. we went to a very experienced starband provider and had excellent results. There are two orthos in that office who cover for each other as needed, and both are very good. Lucky for us - because when we started all this I really didn't ask the right questions. -christine sydney 18 mo starband grad > > > > > > Hey ladies, > > > we decided to go with the Hanger helmet.
