Guest guest
Benmrad: You bring up many issues. Who to tell. This is a personal decision and each of us has a different opinion. And your opinion changes over time. I am very selective who I tell about the band. I did tell my lunch partners. Some people I just tell that I have decided to eat less in order to lose weight. Not the whole truth but good enough. No, I did not have big dinners before surgery. Not even the day before. It just makes more to lose later. As a matter of fact I started eating less and chewing better before surgery. Practicing. Yes, when you give up eating you are losing a friend. But this friend " eating " has not been kind to you. And you have every right to leave him in the dust. You can even kick him in the head as you walk away. Your energy level is not controlled by how much food you put in your mouth. Your body has plenty of fuel to get through a normal day. Most of this " energy " idea is in your head. Yes, I take vitamins: two Flintstones chewables for me. Other people here take grownup vitamins or liquid vitamins. I am in love with Barney and Fred. Yes, there is lots to learn and lots of adjusting to the adjustable band - but you are certainly taking the steps to do what you need to do and it is heart warming to see you (and other bandsters) doing it. Good luck.
