I was out of town for a few days last week and wasn't able to respond to questions asked of me by group members. I'm sorry I wasn't available but glad to see the questions were answered by others on the list. Someone asked yesterday about New Years Eve plans. Usually DH and I stay home, but for the past 2 years, we've been partying at a friend-of-a-friend's home. This guy has a great 'party' room with a huge stereo, pool table and wet bar. DH and I went out for a late dinner before the party started. I'm not a drinker, so I'm ALWAYS the designated driver. lol We (the girls) danced and shook our booties to everything from " Hey Ya! " by Out Kast to Stevie Ray Vaughn and some good southern rock. We finally got home at 2:30 am. It's a good thing we only do that once a year! Regarding the discussion about fiber supplements, it was my understanding that Dr. A. suggested a supplement 15-30 minutes before meals to help us feel full more quickly, thus eating less food. It's been awhile since I've read my book, but that's what I remember about the reasoning behind taking fiber supplements. For what it's worth, I had terrible gas and diarrhea during my first round of Phase 1. My doc said I was eating way too much salad and not enough of the 'rougher' vegetables. Once I limited myself to 1 large salad a day (lunch), I was much better. My second time on Phase 1, I added beans to my salads which gave the salads a whole new dimension! The beans are soft and creamy in texture and a nice contrast to the crunchy veggies in the salad. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2006!
