Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Well I finally made it to a pain management doctor...Dr Perri in Middletown, NY. Very nice man..during the consultation, he asked me to describe how and what I was feeling in my hand and arm and it took me about 10-15 minutes to actually come up with the words and he was totally patient with me and didn't interrupt me or cut me off...he did a couple of tests on me and then low and behold, he ordered nerve blocks..the one thing I didn't want and I told him that..I said "I got this thing about needles but I REALLY have this thing about needles in my neck" and he said to get one block and see if it helps and if it doesn't, I don't have to get anymore..he's also ordering a 3 phase bone scan, more x-rays of my hands and next Tuesday I'll be glowing in the dark from the nuclear crap they're gonna inject me with for the bone scan...I have one major problem though....Dr Perri doesn't do the blocks and told me I have to see an anesthesiologist and of course the only person in Ulster County who does them is Dr Gamburg and that ***************** wouldn't see me even after my attorney got in touch with him and I called Orange Anesthesia in Middletown and they're not taking new patients and they're the only ones for Orange County and I called my lawyer and told him about not being able to find anyplace to get this hated block and he said he was gonna call Albany and set me up with an appt up there...it'd be easier to find one not so far up the line from me but I guess wherever they find one is where I'll go and since I don't have a vehicle on the road right now, my one lawyer's son will be taking me to all my appointments...he took me to Middletown and I was surprised that it was one of my lawyer's kids doing the transporting..I thought they had a contract with someone for that but this guy actually works for the lawyers office and that's one of his jobs to take clients to medical appointments...oh and Dr Perri also put me on Zanaflex 3x a day and so far like with the Percocet it's not doing a thing but I see him again on Dec. 10th so I'll tell him then or maybe I'll just call him and be a royal pain in the butt..and his fee was pretty decent I guess..he got $200 for the consult and I was in there with him for over an hour and then the subsequent appts are gonna be $100 per visit..well I'll end this now and go have more coffee and stew a little more about these blocks and having to get injected with nuclear crap... hope all of you have a very low pain day (would prefer no pain for all but...) oh and Dawn, you were right about Gamburg with your warning...what a jack@**!! Hugs To All, ~Chrissy~
