Guest guest
I haven't seen yesterday's or today's New York Times but apparently there was an article regarding vaccinations and mad cow disease and it infuriated my friend Amy so much that she wrote a letter to the editor and which I printed here. Poor Amy, she has been so torn about vaccinations because of what she has heard from me and now this comes along. >To the Editor: > >As a new mother of a 7-month old vaccinated son, I was distressed to >read, " 5 Drug Makers Use Material With Possible Mad Cow Link (Feb. >8). All the mothers I know want to protect >their children from disease, but we are disturbed when we hear >reports of potential problems with vaccines, such as the unnecessary >use of mercury as a preservative, or links between autism and the >MMR vaccine. And when we question our doctors, we are often looked >at as annoyances or kooks. Is it really any surprise that concerned >parents are increasingly choosing not to vaccinate, and that >diseases like whooping cough and measles are making a comeback?
