Guest guest
When I get discouraged, I make myself remember all of the children we saw at All Children's hospital during the long process it took for my son to get a diagnosis of celiac disease. There were so many kids there with cancer, lupus, and a whole other long line of diseases/conditions with very poor outlooks - many of which they were testing my son for - it was sad and frightening. So....when I get discouraged about the eating out or special cooking, I try to put things in perspective and be thankful that by diet changes alone, we are healthy. And, by the way, I DO get discouraged sometimes, but by being conscious of remembering this past experience, I am able to get past it pretty quickly and focus on the positives. I am so encouraged by the increasing variety of GF food available and the many restaurants getting onboard with GF menus! in GA Check out AOL.com today. These are given at the local cancer clinic's infusion center. A cancer patient receiving chemo actually said to me, " Oh, I'd just DIE if I couldn't eat wheat. At least there's a chance that my cancer will be cured. " I wasn't the only one who stared at her in shock. And here I am thinking, " Wow, my treatment is EASY and it won't make me sick. " Instead, I just wished her luck. ygg
