Guest guest
Yesterday I was gone to a meeting all day and when I came home, our huge 150 year old oak tree had fallen on the main wing of the house. The insurance man ( a friend) had a roof guy out within 30 minutes. It destroyed a good part of our deck and built in benches and there are several holes in the roof. The tree was soo big that it went over the house and and touching the front yard. We had gotten our grandson a steel deer stand and it was propped on the side of the deck. This probably kept the tree from going entirely through the roof. Bob was gone to pick up the kids from school and came home to it. It looks like we got hit by a tornado. The roof people were out this morning to take down the tree and have a big problem. The tree is slowly coming down more..and they just rushed to get some cement blocks to hold up the trunk where the tree uprooted. The wood wasn't working that they were using to prop. I'm going to Subway and then over to Kathy's for the afternoon. They think that the tree uprooted because the ground had been really dry for a couple of years and then we got a ton of rain in the last couple of days. We built our dream house 15 years ago in this spot because we loved the old oak trees in the back. There were 5 back then, now we have 3..and wondering if we should have the others cut. As Ginger told me last night...things can be replaced. I just hope the dang thing doesn't end up in my den! We will probably have take out tonight. 231/197/169 Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death www.ThePointers.net --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
