Well I have been going to channel Islands here in Ventura, Ca. Have

not been to happy. My son has had his starband on for like a month

and a half. But this is his second helemt. The first one did not fit

right we first got him fitted like at 3.5 months got it two weeks

later at 4 months. He got really sick right when we got it, the next

day so he had it off for a week then I did not like the way it was

fitting and I went in and they had to shave some out and then it did

not fit at all was really poorly fitted. Had to cast him again and

wait another two weeks for the helmet. So he started like at 5 months

he is 6.5 now. I have seen some correction in the back of his head

but not really in the face. I have had this feeling for a little bit

now that something is just not right. This feeling like I could get

better care. But this is were my insurance sent us and I was just

trying to trust the process. Well I have been going in once a week

for some kind of issue with the helemt. Some good like his head

changing in the spots I want it too but some was relly weird like the

way it moves. So to make a long story short I wanted a second

opinion. Well so I went to Steller today in Pasadena and they scaned

his head and he has a little less than 16mm and that is with

correction for a month. His is severe plagio. he also has tort.

Steller knows what he is talking about. I really liked him. He took

is time with me answered all my questions. I had that feeling like

this is were my son needs to go. Well My insurance won't pay for it

becasue they are not in our group so I am going to change anyway and

pay out of pocket!! This is my sons head. I really want the best

care! I wish insurance companys let us pick the doctors even with

HMO!! So Connor will get his third helmet in 8 days from today. That

is fast. He says that is normal. This has been a very long process.

But we are on the right track. I wish I knew more about all this but

I guess learning on the way will have to do. I am glad my son is

still young enouph that he will have some good change.

thanks for Listening to me rant.

Wow, this sounds really frustrating. I'm sorry you've had to deal with

all this. The first helmet not fitting sounds reasonable given you had

to leave it off, but the seconds doesn't sounds good. There is also a

cranial techonologies in the LA area - did you look into that? Isn't

there an expression 'third times the charm " - let's hope it is true.
