Guest guest
Tonight the CostCo staff was far less than helpful and refused to let my husband see the ingredient label for the berry smoothie mix - but my 6 yr has been begging and begging for one. I'm wondering if anyone knows if they are GF? Maureen p.s. I also wonder if there actually is a helpful CostCo employee anywhere... we've never met one
Guest guest
I don't know if they are GF. What we do is buy the 3 Berry Blend from Costco and make our own at home. Raspberries/Blueberries/nberries that is all there is in the bag. Makes me wonder about not allowing you to see the ingredients. I thought they were just the berries and water....but we haven't bought one in a very long time. I'm sorry to hear you've never met a helpful Costco employee. I've met several. Hope this was some help to you ~ Kathy

Guest guest
We make lots of smoothies at home (Trader Joe's Vanana yogurt + mixed berries), too, but sometimes a kid just wants a store-bought treat, ya know? Guest guest
I hear that! Mine wanted an iced Mocha at Costco this evening....no, sorry. You have to make it at home. (Costco's iced Mocha is terrible! but who knows what all is in it) My "kid" is 17 years old next month. Usually it is ME that wants something.....my family tells me no....I have to wait to eat/drink at home :-) ~ Kathy marcianar wrote: We make lots of smoothies at home (Trader Joe's Vanana yogurt + mixed berries), too, but sometimes a kid just wants a store-bought treat, ya know? Guest guest
Maureen does your daughter specifically want a Costco berry smoothie or will any berry smoothie do? If any smoothie will do, I make one that my son just loves. We're GF and CF so there is no dairy in this one but I'll bet it would be even better with yoghurt. 1 cup strawberries 1 cup cold water or rice milk/almond milk/soymilk. 4 teaspoons white beans (they have no flavor and add fiber) 1 teaspoon agave nectar (you can use any sweetner, I use this because it has a low GI and it is sweet without having a taste of it's own) Blend well. the smoothie made with water is a brighter red than the one made with the milks. If I make it with vanilla almond milk I leave out the sweetener. or you can buy a GF, CF, kosher, organic, natural, vegan smoothie base from <http://www.naturesflavors.com/default.php?cPath=161> I haven't tried anything from this company yet but a good girlfriend of mine who lives in Austin is raving about this company's products. They natural snow cone syrups, natural colorants and flavorants and a whole bunch of other items that are natural, organic, GFCF, vegan and kosher. We have a chain of stores here in Norfolk that sells the most amazing smoothies that are GFCF. problem is that I don't think they are national. Guest guest
I can't speak to CostCo but have had great experience with Pick n Save. The deli employee went back and got the original packages and even helped me look through them to determine which items I could have other than the obvious no nos like pasta salads. Very helpful and friendly. I have been to a couple other stores (Sentury was terrible) where the employees rolled their eyes and were just nasty about it when I requested to see ingreedient lists. > > Tonight the CostCo staff was far less than helpful and refused to let > my husband see the ingredient label for the berry smoothie mix - but > my 6 yr has been begging and begging for one.
