My non-GF sister passed along this website:

http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com/ - the author has been filmed for a

show in development for the Food Network. This is what her blog says

about it:

" A production company in Los Angeles has been asked by the Food

Network to produce a show called The Power of Food. It will be a

series of profiles of people whose lives have been changed by food. "

My sister heard about her blog via a commercial on Food Network - I

have not yet seen the commercial. I don't have any info on a possible

air date.

This lady is passionate about food and life, and although her blog

postings are long they are worth reading. There are recipes noted

throughout.

There is a major celiac conference in NYC in November, being held not

too far from where many of the Food Network shows are filmed -

wouldn't it be wonderful if they had each of their major chef

personalities do at least one episode which was gluten-free? I wish, I

wish!!

I am blessed to have a VERY supportive family - they have been super

about my need to be GF. My heart goes out to those of you with family

that just doesn't " get it. "

YEAH! I saw the promo yesterday, and my jaw dropped! She was cooking food that looked very yummy (not sure what it was), and I am soooo going to watch this show! She didn't say she was celiac, only that she couldnt eat gluten, and that she was constantly sick as a child everytime she would eat. I think this is awesome! My hubby is constantly amazed how good some gluten free foods can be. Sonja

I saw a promo for it last night on the food network. They didn't

say the name of the show..just her name and that she was going to be

doing a gluten free cooking show. It showed some of the things

she'll be making and they looked pretty amazing.

In her June 30 post on Gluten-Free Girl blog, it would appear as though these are only promos or a commercial for the Gluten-Free Girl, not for a full show on the Food Network. Re: Food Network Special Coming!!

Two months ago I emailed the Food Network and asked them to think about guten free meals. Maybe if they get more of our emails asking for a gluten free or allergy-free cooking shows we can get their attention. After all, it wouldn't hurt to let them know we are out here.

It's just a little promo that focuses on various people. No show.

>From her blog:

" ...being on the Food Network, unexpectedly. For all those of you have

asked, yes that was me on TV the past few days. The Food Network segment has

already started airing, and judging by the numbers of emails that have been

coming in the last couple of days, they seem to be airing it several times a

day now. It's supposed to be part of a larger program called The Power of

Food, which profiles people whose lives have been changed by food. However,

they seem to be running a 30-second version of my segment as a stand-alone

promo. Many people who have written to me seem to think it is a commercial

for my website or for a cooking show I'm going to be doing. Judging by the

emotional responses people have been having, it's clear there's a need for a

gluten-free cooking show. But as of now, the segment is simply running on

the Food Network as a little commercial for Gluten-Free Girl. "
