Guest guest
Hi, You situation is almost the same as us. Few week ago, CT graduated my son, . He out grow his band (in it for 11 week total). Both my husband and me see the improvement, and we are really happy with it, and even decide not to do second band before our last app with CT. And to our big supprise, the measurements indicate that, our son still have severe brachy. So, ask yourself this question : Without knowing the measurement, are you happy with his head shape ? Try to compare your son head shape with others kids in general (your friends etc), is his look 'normal' ? Like my ped say, everyone's head and face is asymmetry. You won't get any 'award' for having the most symmetry head shape. I just want my son's to look normal. We are lucky because travel time to CT is only abt 30min, and insurance cover 100%. Anyway, we decide not to band. This is just me. Good luck with your decision. ps. we went to CT at conn too. is our clinician. peishan. > > We went for our app. at CT this week. Guest guest
You could always post pictures to get the opinions of other moms here. I would go off of if you are happy with his headshape without knowing the measurements. If no, then consider a 2nd band. If you are, then great and stop. If you aren't sure, then think in the long run what is " best " for your child. Good luck. PS What were his measurements this time? > > We went for our app. at CT this week. Guest guest
I would focus on two things. First, he has one more month in the band and I have a heard that a lot of parents who stuck out the last or an extra month have been rewarded with a lot of additional correction. So I wouldn't try to make the decision for a second band just yet. A month can be a long time (in a good way) in a band. Second, I would try to focus on the actual look of your son's head more than the numbers. I know it's hard, but the numbers can be deceiving, especially in this case where you say your son was squirmy during the measurements (plus one mom posted earlier that she received 3 different measurements from 3 different band providers, it just depends on who is taking the measurements and at what angle). I know they're nice because you know from the beginning where you're starting at and the level of severity you're dealing with. But if you're happy with the way his head looks at the end, it shouldn't really matter what the numbers are. Just from a numbers standpoint though, it seems unlikely that a baby starting at 8mm would need a second band, exspecially if you visually see a big difference and think he looks great. Bottomline is, if you're happy with the way he looks, I wouldn't push for a second band. But I would also wait until the end of the 4 weeks to decide that for sure. Good luck! I hope you get a lot more correction in the last month and the decision will be easier for you. Jake-19m (tort resolved/rt plagio/DOCBand 10 weeks) Jordan-4 > > We went for our app. at CT this week.
