Guest guest
Thanks for info about bone density test. I'll ask my doc about it at my next appointment. The reason I asked about contrast media and bee stings is that I went for one test last summer and got sent home at the last moment. I had fasted, done the test prep and everything. Got on the table and they were about to put in the contrast dye when they went through the whole list of questions.... Are you using a pacemaker, yadda yadda, Blah Blah, Are you allergic to bee stings? Well, I *AM* allergic to bee stings and so they said " Stop. Right. There. " They wouldn't do the test for someone allergic to bee stings unless the person had been on prophylactic antihistamines for about a week prior to the test. And I can't take antihistamines because of glaucoma. So there. I never got the test. My primary care doc didn't know about the bee sting exclusion. My primary care doctor was SHOCKED by the whole experience. I was bummed out to have wasted all that time fasting and prepping and then to still be in limbo because I couldn't take the test. Oh well. Live and learn. Ask about bee sting exclusions in advance. Esther in RI
