Guest guest
I don't want to bring up more worries for a group of people who already have enough worries but just for the record: If you cook meat in a crock pot and have leftovers you should not then reuse that meat in another crock pot recipe. Crock pots come up to temperature slowly so subjecting meat to two slow cooking cycles can create bacterial/toxin issues. It's not a given but it's just a risk. I would cook the stew in the crock pot sans leftover meat and after several hours or near the end, microwave the meat until it's steaming, then throw it in the crock pot and continue cooking in the crock. This way the leftover meat spends little time in the 40-140 degree danger zone. > And if > I have some left over after that I will make a stew (again in the crock pot) > and feed my family for a third day. >
