Aida:

You know Aida, you have to join our pushy broad club. I know where your coming from. I've been there and done that , when it comes to denial from Fred. (also his mother) Fred was so bad that he wasn't taken some of his meds for over a year , I was so upset when I found out. I almost gave up on the whole thing then, it made me feel like a real fool. Now I'm the one that tells the doctor all that is going on.I even got the doctor to put Fred on a antidepression med this last time, because he is always crying , but said he didn't need one. Your the one that know's what Bill needs. You see him day in and day out, you also know what your needs are and what you can do. I know you take care of Bill , but you need to take care of youself also. Do as Bill and Carol tolded you, write down everything that happens between now and when you go to the doctor again and show it to him. Or if you need to call him (the dr). I do it all the time and his always returned my call's, and if I've had to I take Fred in before the time the dr wanted. I do that also. Your a good caregiver, but you do something that is good for Aida and makes her even better. You count in all of this illness too.

Take Care of you.

Subject: Visit to neurologist

Hello: Bill saw his neurologist today for six months

follow up. I am upset- to put it mildly. His bp was

140 standing and 140 sitting. The dr. said apparently

the central autonomic system had responded, and

suggested Bill stop taking florinef. Bill was all

smiles. I reminded them that the last time he was off

Florinef for three days, his bp fell to 60. When the

dr. asked if he could bathe, dress, and eat by

himself, Bill quickly responed "yes." I was hoping to

get some assistance at home. Without the dr referral,

I can do very little. I just can't keep taking care of

him alone. He told the doctor he could recall no

falls. He didn't remember passing out in the hall in

August. We did get a referral for physical therapy

becuase I insisted.When I mentioned his legs

'freezing" so he couldn't take a step, Bill replied it

was as a result of the angiogram he had 4 years ago.

I guess he is still in denial- and I feel devastated.

Sorry for the long message, but I don't want to be

angry with Bill.

Aida and Bill
