Wearing helmet with a temp?

My daughter has a cold and yesterday her temp was 101.5 so we decided

to keep the helmet off for the day. Today she is still sick, but her

temp is down to 99.2. Should we continue to leave the helmet off until

she is better?

I've seen several parents post that they've left their child's helmet off when he/she is sick. Is that something that was recommended to you, or is it just for your child's comfort? Just curious, (mom to Johann, 9 mo.) __________________________________________________

I just thought I would throw in this reply that, YES!!!, leave the

helmet off if your child has a fever. Wait until the fever breaks and

the fever goes down. The helmets are hot and can increase a temp. If

a child gets over heated, it can lead to seizures, etc., from what I

understand. If you want a definate number for the temperature call

your ortho or MD. I think for us it was anything over 100.0F

Good luck, hope the sickness leaves quickly.
