Guest guest
Ah, finally a doc who listened and took time with me... She agrees I need to be on Levoxyl and not synthroid and that my meds should not be switched around by the pharmacy. She's unwilling to do Armour, but more than willing to add Cytomel to the mix, UNTIL she saw my morning cortisol levels over the past few years.... That stopped everything dead. My morning cortisol is about 5-she said it should be at least 16. So..we are now testing for adrenal and pituitary function and proceeding from there... I'll go for the next several mornings to get blood work done including a FULL thyroid panel and then we'll re-evaluate in a week. ____________________________ in *HHH* Jerseyopen proximal rny 9/18/015'9"-31yo297/168I'm not a doc-in real life or otherwise.***HHH=hot, hazy, & humid!!! Guest guest
Well I'm sorry she's not open to using Armour, but at least she IS willing to work with you and get to the root of the problems. That's a good thing. Did she give a reason for why she is unwilling to use Armour?Willyorca wrote: Ah, finally a doc who listened and took time with me... Guest guest
Did she give a reason for why she is unwilling to use Armour?////////////// She's been involved in a lot of recent research and studies on Armour and doesn't feel they know the correct levels going in as opposed to the sythetic T4 and T3 which they can titrate to a precise level. I'm willing to try it her way first since she was so open with me and extremely thorough-I think she'd be willing to work with me if what we try isn't giving me relief. It was only a 30 minute appt and she spent an hour with me. Before we move ahead with any thyroid med changes we're gonna make sure my adrenals are doing what they are supposed to since my morning cortisol levels are really low according to my labs and her. They have been at 5-6 for the last 2 years and she said that is way too low and they should be at at min. 16. ____________________________ in *HHH* Jerseyopen proximal rny 9/18/015'9"-31yo297/168I'm not a doc-in real life or otherwise.***HHH=hot, hazy, & humid!!!
