Guest guest
Hi Barbie, My babies had torticollis and treating that was the key to keeping their heads from getting too asymmetrical. I used the positioner, bumbos, Boppy noggin nests and strategies for getting them to rest on the protruding side of their heads during play times, as well as a ton of tummy time. They are by no means perfect, but we have not put either baby in a helmet or band. I started " minor " repositioning at about 2 months, more agressive repo at 3.5 months, PT for tort at 4 months. At 7 months my babies started being able to sit unaided and have also been growing faster and I have noticed even more improvement in their head shapes. PLEASE note that my babies had torticollis. On top of that they were over a month premature so I assume their bone hardening is a month behind too. On top of everything else, they are small boys (14 lbs at 6 months), and it seems like smaller heads may be easier to " fix " with repositioning. If you want to try repo give yourself a month or two and take photos to see if its working, but have alternatives lined up in case it doesn't yield satisfactory results. My boys are 8 months now and it still would not be too late to band, but I am happy with the repo results. All the best, Colleen > Hi Barbie and , > > I used this positioner from 4-6 months.
